Pepe Arcade is one of the younger better known artists in the Mallorca techno scene. His work in the balearic label Irdial music has helped the island to be considered a quarry of excellent producers of the country and day to day the number of label grows. He having dropped records on labels such as Irdial Music, Serial number 849 records, Upfront, Darkside, Sirius Pandi….In this release we found a bridge from the cosy confines of a studio to the outer spaces, with a collaborative proyect between Angel Costa and Dakpa. This original sounds are a convincing club-tracks, with lighter colours and a straight four to the floor drive….Deconstructed sounds, experimental tones…melancholy, and highly calibrated dancefloor precision where can be listened to from start to finish. Angel and Dakpa transforms the mood of the original track without losing its great melodic feel in amazing Dub techno sounds.  Often when Pong musiq claims to be taking risks and trying something new, the truth is rather less remarkable. Not in this case: Pepe have created a terrifically original, inimitable trio of tracks that combine Techno and the avant-garde, the cerebral and the physical, to absolutely stunning effect. It might be unusual and it might be clever, but it’s still dance music pure.

Knarz (b2) simply is a dancefloor weapon for sure! It is obvious the Knarz style sound has proven so many times, not to be just a flash in the bottle. Its a really timeless kind of electronic music sound and Matt Stars 2010 interpretation on international freakshow #17 applies for getting affiliated to the Hall of Fame of Knarz Techno releases. After his own first album ‘Backdrift To Sea LP’ published in November 2009 on ZeECc, ‘Harbor At Night’ is a perfect extension with two new long and melancholy tracks. The first one, entitled ‘Silent Docks’, combines typical dub elements of The Nautilus Project with soft, delicate and mysterious pads. ‘Forgotten Shiploads’ adds some ambient atmospheres, sometimes oppressive or disturbing, to give the impression of having just draw alongside in a desert harbor.  4 other remixes come to reinforce perfectly this release. Martin Schulte (Lantern / Ornaments / Rednetic) goes, in the same way, for a quiet walk by night on the ‘Silent Docks’. Dubatech aka Fatih Tuter (Baum / Instabil / Shoreless) goes off the melancholy with a pure deep-techno form of ‘Forgotten Shiploads’, perfect for the clubs. Octex (Sthlmaudio / Mute Records) revisits ‘Deep Waves’, taken from the ‘Backdrift To Sea LP’, with all essential dub-techno elements. And Hieronymus (Rootplex / Kyoto Digital) manages to drag the ‘December Night’ track to a complete dub version.  Once again, The Nautilus Project proposes you a complete and very various release to satisfy a large and curious audience.

Perc Trax is proud to welcome transatlantic duo Donor / Truss to the label. Despite Donor living in New York and Truss residing in London they have carved out a name creating no nosense dub-influenced techno of the highest quality. Relative newcomers to the scene their first release came out in 2008 and since then they have released on Dumb Unit, Miniscule and Damon Wild’s legendary Synewave imprint, the latter featuring a world-class remix package including Ostgut Ton’s Norman Nodge and Samuli Kempii.

Their debut on Perc Trax opens up with ‘Noson’ a track which perfectly demonstrates their sound, with a foundation of sub-bass underpinning an industrial soundscape that continually evolves through the track. Next up is the 2-part ‘Indiffernce’. Part 1 features intense echoing synth stabs over clipped drums whilst Part 2 goes deeper, but still with enough muscle to move any floor. Finally Truss flies solo to offer up his own dub of ‘Noson’. Techno of the highest quality.
