Influenced early in his career by the new house sound of the 90′s in France, The year’s newcomer RPO launched with tracks like Sequential Feat Kleph “Chocho locco”, and Tribal Nation “In Ghetto” In 1999, he established his first label RPO TRAXX flavor Tendency House and Latino House. The same year, in the USA, Rick Pier O’ Neil grabs TOP 5 on the BILLBOARD Dance Charts with the first title from Sussex House “Good Feel”. Rapidly he got inspired to remix some big name stars such as Donna Summer “Love is the Healer” ( 1 BILLBOARD) and Lenny Kravitz “Black Velveteen”, Cece Peniston, Brooklyn Funk Essential, Book Of Coil, Whatever Girl “I Know You Can”…. His Techno Tribal influences pushes him towards groups such as Cormano, of which he is the producer, with the Mangamania track in Spain, in the USA, the U.K. (BUZZ Charts of Pete Tong – BBC 1, Steve Lawler…). he pursued his own inspiration with tracks like REVENGE 1 and 2 rapidly supported by spotlights name such as CARL COX- DANNY TENAGLIA, PETER RAHOFFER… Around the same time Rick Pier O’ Neil produced an under-label RPO TRAXX artists such as RUDY WILBURN – AJAI – THOMAS AND JOAKIM – SPIRITUAL VIBE…..whose tracks became classics on the dancefloor and are still played today. In November 2001, he decides to create a new subdivision more “Dark and Tribal” in RPO TRAXX: GARBAGE RECORDS. The first releases is GIVE ME FIERCE by U.D.G played by fellow Dj’s such as Danny Tenaglia, Peter Rauhoffer, Saeed & Palash, Danny Howells, Thunderpuss, John Digweed, Boy George… and many more… Today the label presents names like Inflator, Elek Drums, DJ O’ Neil, Tools 7 released and produced by Rick Pier O’ Neil himself under his various pseudo. In 2004 a round-up of singles released by RPO includes tracks from ADF “Destination” (Premier Sound) or Subway baby “Burnin Soul” (Solar Rec) which were realeased after multiple collaborations with labels like Younan Inc, Choo Choo records, Distraekt Records, Nervine records… 2004: Comes the creation of FREKENCY Records subdivision with the release of the first 6 references braces for more energetic mixes more techno and electro. 2005 like a lone wolf cutting his teeth (and beats) in postmodern urban jungles RPO opens a new studio in Barcelona Spain: X-PERIENCE Records, Electroclash, Vesta Records, Display recordings and the most recent Tokamak records, RPO Voices dept. and RPO Digital. He continues close cooperation for remix and productions with friends producer and DJs from the whole world like Eric Entrena, Thomas Penton, Barry Gilbey, Saeed Younan, Kai, Piliavin and Zimbardo and most recent Joy Marquez ,Raf Fender …

Marko Fürstenberg was born in 1976 in thuringia, germany. influenced by the 80s music such as depeche mode, a-ha and new order he was attracted to electronic music from its beginning. very early marko made his first steps in recording his own tapes as “dolby”. in the beginning of 1995 he started dj-ing at several parties in thuringia and already then showing a techno-orientation originated from labels like x-trax, force inc., klang and later basic channel. a few years later he started creating his first own electronic sounds with a pc and thus he invested constantly in technical equipment. in 2000 his first project “vertikal 23” was established, in cooperation with local musicians. the outcome was a mixture between downbeat & trip hop but later on marko developed his own deep sound. providing his music on the internet, marko got in touch with the “thinner” netlabel, which published his first release under “dolby” alias in 2002. further releases followed also on other netlabels such as realaudio, stadtgruen and instabil, as well as remixes for digitalverein, rktic, lod and sarah goldfarb. the success story began: between 2003 and 2005 marko performed at some international festivals and clubs, e.g. in canada, greece, sweden, poland, suisse, austria, etc. after publishing quite a number of netreleases, his first vinyl track on “thinner allstars pt.1” (2003) was published under the pseudonym “surphase”. very soon after that marko decided to use his real name marko fürstenberg for his future work. after moving to leipzig in 2006, marko approached a peak level in productivity, releasing a number of songs in rapid succession with labels like a.r.t.less, tfe and rotary-cocktail. marko’s success within the constantly changing techno scene didn’t come as a surprise: together with diverse dj partners as well as solo artist marko fürstenberg is now performing regularly in clubs & parties all over europe. his live sets combine classic dub-techno elements with current techno trends, which is much valued by his audience. with this kind of electronic music marko is considerably involved in the development of dub- and deep-techno.

As with any great era of music, there are always a handful of tracks that can be considered genre defining. For dance music -from the late 90’s to the new millennium – there were only a select few tracks that caught fire around the world. Most of these tracks came from the godfather’s of the recent dance music explosion: We’re talking about tracks like Underworld’s “Born Slippy,” and The Chemical Brother’s “Block Rockin’ Beats.” However, there was one track in particular that emerged from the underground and caught everyone off guard. At first, people knew Iio’s “Rapture” by the catchy “la, la, la” chorus as sung by a beautiful voice. As the track emerged from the underground and blew up in the mainstream, “Rapture” became a true tour de force. Remixes from Creamer & K, Deep Dish and Armin van Buuren would follow and the track sold into the millions. Still, at the heart of what made “Rapture” so beautiful was that voice. That voice – and voice of a new generation in house music – belongs to Nadia Ali.
